RED FLAG! Racing drivers nightmare!
Test
Testing was done
a month prior to racing due to the circuit only being allowed so many "loud" days
a month.
Qualifying Saturday 5th May
We choose only
to do 5 laps for qualifying to keep the tyres as good as possible for the race.
That meant one out lap and four fast laps. When I came in the pits I was sitting
at P1 which was great. There were still 5 minutes to go and in that time I was
pipped by Hodgetts, Jordan, Pead and Fildes. That put me P5. Still Great result
considering we didn't test the previous day as per normal.
Qualifying
Race Saturday 5th May
8 lap race with me starting from grid 5. I was having
a excellent battle with Fildes (2003 Clio Cup Champion) and I came out on top
to finish 5th.
Race 2 Round 3 Sunday 6th May
Due to the other
qualifying race posting a quicker fastest lap than my qualifying race, I started
on grid 10. Out of a grid of 38 cars that wasn't bad at all. I was racing well
in 8th place having to fend off Ed Pead and we were slowly catching the battle
infront of us between Jordan, Winrow, Speller, Edwards jnr and Lawson. On lap
13 I passed Jordan and Lawson to put me into 6th place and on lap 14 I passed
Winrow, Speller and Edwards jnr as they came together at the chicane. That was
me in 3rd place.

The race was stopped and put back to lap 12 which meant I finished 8th instead
of 3rd! Still despite all that it was a good weekend for both myself and the team.
