Snetterton round 7 & 8
28th - 29th July
Well
well well, what a weekend! Back to the old racing format where we get two 55 minute
test sessions and two full races which both count for the championship.
Testing didn't go well as we were down in 16th position. We made some slight changes
to the car overnight all set for qualifying.
Qualifying. 20 minutes
of qualifying saw me stick in both the quickest and the 2nd quickest time which
meant I was on pole for both races! Great turn around
Race 1. I
got a great start from pole position and managed to hold the lead for the full
12 laps being under immense pressure from series leader Stefan Hodgetts.
I
kept my nerve and took the victory to secure my first British podium of the year
and my first win in the British Clio cup.
I was over the moon with he job
the team had done and delighted I got my long overdue win!
Race 2.
Starting from pole again I got to the first corner in the lead before a big accident
behind caused a red flag and a race restart.
On the restart Robert Lawson
got the jump on me off the line and got into the lead.
I was pressuring
him for the whole race but just couldn't get close enough to mount a serious challenge.
At the flag I was in 2nd place.
An excellent weekend for both me
and the team.
I'm now up to 4th in the drivers standing and well in contention
for a top 3 spot..
