Help the Heroes Karting Event this weekend
Gartocharn racer Michael Doyle is going back to where he started and getting behind the wheel of a Go-Kart in aid of Help for Heroes. The 22 year old British Touring Car driver, who is sponsored by In-Tune Garage Services ltd, The Scottish Sun and Think Pink Scotland, will take to the Daytona Kart Circuit in Milton Keynes on Saturday 27th Febuary in a bid to raise cash and awareness for the Help For Heroes charity.
The charity supports members of the Armed Forces who have been injured in the service for their country in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Michael will lead a team called Hazzelarators Heroes, made up from leading drivers from across the UK, including fellow British Touring Car Championship racers Matt Hamilton and Stephen Jelley. The team will take on another 16 from the world of car and bike racing, one of which will include celebrities such as Boyzone’s Shane Lynch, Tom Clarke from The Enemy and the stars of TV’s Dirty Sanchez show.
Michael said " Its great to get the opportunity to raise money and awareness for any charity and i'm really looking forward to the event. Its not quite the same as racing in the British Touring Cars but its great to have fun racing while raising money for such an important charity".
Michael's 2010 racing plans are still to be confirmed. " Its very difficult to secure the backing required to get back out on track to further my career. Hopefully we can secure a deal to get back out in the BTCC this season and start where we left off in 2008".
